Introduction to welding — in VR

Arkansas experimented for six months with using virtual reality as a low-cost way to showcase potential careers, like welding or hospitality. The state announced plans to expand the program on Thursday, including the goal of reaching another 4,500 students this year. Colin Wood reports.

Chipping in for semiconductor education

Intel announced a grant program for semiconductor research and education on Thursday, with plans to issue the first grants as early as August. West Virginia University plans to offer digital trading cards with basketball players on them through an NFT marketplace, according to the school's Twitter. More than 50 schools have signed on so far to offer trading cards through NFTU. Colin explains.
