Purdue’s supercomputer ‘open for business’

Purdue University's supercomputer, "Anvil," moved out of a test phase in February. The supercomputer is designed to get researchers on board that might not be familiar with coding or Linux by offering options for user interfaces. Humanities researchers can use the processing power to parse large amounts of data. Intel, NSF to invest $150M in semiconductor education and research

As the U.S. tries to boost domestic semiconductor chip production, Intel and the National Science Foundation announced $150 million in grants for higher education institutions. Intel recently announced plans to build two new factories in Ohio, and $50 million of the grant money is designated for schools there. Benjamin Freed has more.


Calculating the return-on-investment for a college education

Georgetown University Center on Education and the Workforce ranked thousands of higher education institutions on return-on-investment. The rankings use outcomes data like retention rates and earnings and are designed to give students another tool for choosing a college or university.
