Michigan State University's plans to improve state "middle mile" coverage

The NTIA awarded Michigan State University $10.5 million to improve "middle mile" coverage throughout the state. MSU is partnering with the Merit Network, a nonprofit which offers high-powered computing resources to Michigan's local governments and educational institutions. MSU and the Merit Network plan to build out the open access connections over the next year. Emily Bamforth has more.

University of Florida offers free AI courses for faculty, staff

The University of Florida is making microcredentials on artificial intelligence free to faculty and staff, covering AI fundamentals and industry applications. Hundreds of people have already emailed about the courses, Regina Rodriguez, a provost fellow for professional education, told EdScoop. The courses serve as an opportunity for staff without tech backgrounds to learn more about the university's efforts to integrate the AI into the overall curriculum, she said. Emily explains.
