University of North Texas students are modeling COVID-19's spread with AI

Students at the University of North Texas are competing in a global competition to predict the spread of COVID-19 using artificial intelligence. The competition, hosted by Kaggle — an online community for data science and artificial intelligence — features 30 teams of UNT students that are using real-world data to design AI prediction models that forecast the number of infections and fatalities resulting from the pandemic. Overall, the competition received submissions from more than 400 teams globally. Betsy Foresman has more from the university's announcement.
