Inside Cornell's robot-powered testing lab

When Cornell University prepared to bring students back to campus and reintroduce in-person classes for the fall semester, setting up a mass testing program to track COVID-19 cases became a top priority. It has allowed the university to keep students, faculty and staff safe during the ongoing health crisis, university health experts said this week. To set up a mass testing program, university leaders said they relied heavily on technology — including robotics and data management tools — to streamline processes. 95 finalists

The U.S. Department of Education on Wednesday announced 95 finalists in its Rethink Adult Ed Challenge. The finalists are invited to compete for $750,000 in prizes as they seek to improve how adults who've struggled with education can obtain useful skills to enter or re-enter the workforce. The pandemic made learning harder

University students are having a harder time learning, they feel worse prepared to enter the workforce and the overall value of their educations has degraded, according to recent survey data published by the higher education publication Intelligent. The survey, commissioned by the publication last year, published results this month, revealing the public health crisis has had generally negative effects on students in higher education.
