Online education gets positive reviews in recent college survey

Annual survey data published Thursday by the higher education resource website BestColleges.com suggests that many students and administrators are receiving favorably the online education format that many institutions have defaulted to during the pandemic, though the survey drew heavily from those currently and soon to be involved in online-only programs.   Colin Wood has more.

IBM makes $3M donation to Rochester Institute of Technology's cyber range

The Rochester Institute of Technology on Wednesday announced a $3.3 million in-kind gift from IBM in the form of the company's software, consulting services and access to curriculum and software licenses to enhance the capabilities and workforce development programs at the Upstate New York school’s cyber range. The gift will also allow the school model its cyber range after an IBM site in Cambridge, Massachusetts, that offers the computing giant’s customers to practice their cybersecurity skills in lifelike simulations of ransomware and other cyberattacks.         Benjamin Freed has the full story on EdScoop.


'The College Tour' series comes to Amazon Prime Video

At least nine universities, including Arizona State University and the Florida Institute of Technology are set to be featured on a new Amazon series that opens campuses to a wider audience through its video streaming service. The series, called "The College Tour"  features students talking about their experiences at their universities as an alternative for some prospective students to learn about schools without taking in-person tours.
