Iowa community college to resume online classes after ransomware attack

Des Moines Area Community College confirmed to EdScoop that a ransomware attack led them to temporarily cancel classes. The breach has caused class cancellations and disruptions since June 3, the school said, and in-person classes resumed last week. Online-only classes are scheduled to resume today after the restoration of "priority" networks on Monday. The college is the latest in a string of ransomware and cyberattacks against higher education in recent years. Emily Bamforth has the details.
