Texas district loses record $2.3 million in email scam

A school district outside of Austin, Texas, was the victim of an email phishing scam that resulted in a loss of more than $2 million. The district serves about 10,000 students and officials said last week that the investigation was ongoing. Authorities reported several "strong leads" in the case. The scam is the most costly recorded attack of its type against a K-12 school district. Betsy Foresman has the details.
