Nominations for the first iteration of the EdScoop 50 Awards are now live.

The EdScoop 50 Awards honor the people and projects who make higher education more efficient and effective. These awards celebrate the outstanding achievements of the top leaders across the landscape and acknowledge tireless efforts to make a positive impact in the university community.

Created as a companion to the FedScoop 50, StateScoop 50 and CyberScoop 50 awards — which highlight the best and brightest in their respective industries — the EdScoop 50 Awards will be awarded in four categories.

Higher Education IT Executive of the Year — The visionary higher education decision-maker (president, VP, CIO, etc.) leading their college or university into a new technology landscape with innovative ideas — and a focus on inspiring others to get on board.

University Technology Leader of the Year — The leader (director, manager-level) inspiring change in the digital learning or university IT sphere with an emphasis on collaboration, student experience and/or innovation.

Industry Leader of the Year — The private sector pioneer driving change in higher education with unique solutions and a commitment to the industry.

University Technology Innovation of the Year — The cutting-edge higher education approach to making operations more efficient or improving the student experience that embraces innovation.

Individual nominees for the Higher Education IT Executive of the Year and University Technology Leader of the Year categories must be currently employed by a college or university. Nominees for the Industry Leader of the Year category must be private-sector leaders who work with higher-education institutions. University Technology Innovation of the Year nominees must be ongoing or recently concluded projects or programs that include the use of information technology or other education technologies.

Nominations will remain open until Friday, Aug. 12. Voting for the awards will begin Aug. 26 and conclude Sept. 30. Winners will be announced in October.
