Alan Kurk

University Technology Leader of the Year

Alan Kurk is the chief information officer for Texas A&M University AgriLife. Kurk is the longest-tenured CIO within the Texas A&M System, and led Texas A&M AgriLife IT operations into the cloud in 2014. Under Kurk’s leadership, by 2020 AgriLife IT had moved 99 percent of all operations into the cloud, reducing capital IT infrastructure costs by 90 percent. Kurk also developed a strategy to automate more than 95 percent of all IT processes including employee on/off boarding and self-monitoring and corrective automation technologies for various services.
