Butler University names Princeton leader as new chief information officer
Butler University in Indianapolis on Wednesday announced that Carol Williams, who serves as associate chief information officer at Princeton University, has been named as CIO.
Williams is credited with helping to lead enterprise-wide IT initiatives and developing the institution’s use of apps. According to a press release, her accomplishments include “launching the university’s Enterprise Service Management program, expanding ServiceNow across academic and administrative units, modernizing desktop engineering, strengthening cybersecurity compliance, and establishing Princeton’s first customer engagement strategy.”
Before joining higher ed to lead on enterprise IT, Williams led a technology consulting firm, and served as a senior manager at Deloitte, where she led enterprise resource planning and integration programs.
Butler University, which boasts a total enrollment of just under 6,000 undergraduate and graduate students, defines its IT policy as one that “empowers student success and enhances teaching and learning through the delivery of technology, innovation, and partnerships with Butler and the community.”
