Ohio University this week unveiled Go OHIO, a digital portal available as a mobile or web app where students can view information like class schedules, GPAs, account balances and emails.

The app includes access to academic and campus resources such as maps, events and housing information. It also connects to the university’s Blackboard learning management system, cloud storage on OneDrive and open jobs on Handshake. The university said it will also provide access to its new Canvas LMS after it begins transitioning to the platform.

Go OHIO was built by students and tested over a 10-week beta period last spring, Jen Van Nostran, Go OHIO’s product manager, said in a press release.

“At the end of the beta, all the students who used the app last spring said they would recommend it to a friend, with 81 percent very likely to recommend it and 19 percent somewhat likely,” Van Nostran said. “We’re hoping that excitement continues as students share with their friends how easy it is to find their class schedule, check their meal plan balance, or connect to student organizations and events on campus.”
